You building is indeed very elegant - no sleek. It is truly sculptural, even as it makes a gestural provision of greenery - a nod.
Beyond that, I have little to say about the building. You give me little to respond to. If Chicago had no other tall buildings, this one would probably stand out. I suppose it will stand out since you stick it out on the lake. And yes it will meet your imageability criteria, but that just seems a bit wanton, even extravagant. The way it is clad, I suspect it will in time come to resemble a twisted flue or stack. Especially in that image on top left of your second sketch. I think it was a good idea to grey out the other buildings, but the gunmetal grey is unfortunate, given your building.
I suppose in the context of Chicago, it could evoke the industrial feel of the city - and that's kind of cool. And it does have a great sculptural feel. However, I'm not sure why you chose the way you did... I mean, it is a bold building, which could evoke all the emotions I have mentioned, but how do you justify a twisted towering chimney on the lake as sustainable? Surely a few roof gardens that slow down a small percentage of the run off do not compensate for the huge pylons you will have to drive into the lake - not to talk of all the cars you will attract...
Sketch Problem by Derrek Lemahieu • Appropriately incorporates 3ds-max 09 with Google to realistically depict architecture form and order of a preposed idea in a built environment
Applied Theories Sketch Problem by Derrek Lemahieu
• Adequately depicts his aesthetic concept with graphic models in elevations and isometrics • Demonstrates imagability by keeping defined geometry, while introducing a slight augmentation of addaptive forms to illustrate continuity that defines one solution • Maintains the urban context with form to define space and accentuate scale • Incorporates foliage to respond to the environmental challenges, and is careful not to dominate its obvious application to the subtle form and character
Contiguous form Sketch Problem by Derrek Lemahieu
• Relates the top of his idea to the structures adjoining environment. Augmented the shaft to provide a free creation of form, while connecting the base to intrigrally support the forms character defined above.
